Lucinda O’Reilly is an international trade consultant with over 10 years experience of global imports and exports. As the Exports Director of a UK industrial flooring manufacturer, she grew exports to over 40 countries worldwide. Having successfully managed the transition through Brexit, Lucinda set up The International Trade Consultancy to provide practical, customized support to companies struggling to navigate the new regulatory landscape and supply chain challenges caused by the pandemic.

Successful export of high value machinery to the EU and USA

Aqualife Services is at the forefront of the development of vaccines and development systems that can massively reduce the economic, environmental and welfare impact of disease outbreaks in fish farms. Vaccinating fish successfully reduces the need for antibiotics and cuts the incidence of disease which results in mortality and reduced growth rates. The pandemic prompted Aqualife Services to develop a multi species, multi vaccination, semi-automated Covid-19 friendly vaccination solution, to help reduce the number of people required to vaccinate fish. When they won an order from Spain they realised they needed advice on how to export in the most cost-effective, efficient and customs compliant way. Aqualife Services approached The International Trade Consultancy to act as an in-house customs expert and develop the correct export processes to guarantee smooth, customs compliant delivery of their high value machines to their new client. The International Trade Consultancy was able to ensure everything was correct regarding the information required on commercial invoice and packing lists, customs procedures, import duty, HS codes, VAT, incoterms, origin and licensing waivers. Emboldened by this first exporting success they are now selling across the EU and to the USA under the guidance of The International Trade Consultancy.
