Since 2015, I have operated as a Management Consultant / Programme Director carrying out assignments for NHS organisations.

I am an experienced management consultant and programme director with a proven track-record in clinical quality and operational improvement, digital strategy development, digitally enabled transformation, business case development, procurement and complex programme management in healthcare. Engaged as interim programme director to get board approval for the Full Business Case and deliver the implementation. Got board approval for FBC; completed contract negotiation with supplier Epic working with external legal adviser; setup the Hive Programme as a digitally enabled transformation programme working with Chief Transformation Officer; managed communications and stakeholder management, recruited ~200 strong implementation team; setup national framework contract for procuring Epic-skilled resources and services; managed programme through to the end of EPR design and build phases. Successfully transitioned the programme to COO and CTO for rollout as ownership transferred from informatics to operations.

Interim Programme Director

Norfolk and Waveney Acute Hospital Collaborative

May 2022 - Present

Engaged as interim programme director for their Acute EPR Programme to deepen and develop the collaboration of three acute trusts in Norfolk and Waveney ICS, one of the most digitally immature ICS in England. I managed the internal completion and then local and national NHS approval of the Outline Business Case. This approval initiated a procurement for and EPR system supplier, with support from the national NHS Frontline Digitisation EPR Levelling Up Programme. I have successfully completed the procurement with preferred bidder award to MEDITECH. We are no developing the Full Business Case with approval planned early next year.

Better Business Cases training and certification is based on the ‘Five Case Model’ – the UK government’s best practice approach to developing spending proposals and enabling effective business decisions. Accredited training – available globally via APMG-accredited providers – is a required qualification for individuals leading UK Public Sector Business Case development and helps individuals to: Understand and apply the philosophy of the Five Case Model to business cases and other spending proposals Understand different types of business cases, their purpose, who is responsible for them and when they are required Understand the development lifecycle of a business case and the relationships between the five cases Develop effective business cases and spending proposals that appropriately scope the initiative and secure funding and management support.
