About me
I’ve been a freelance writer, editor and proofreader since 2001, mainly working for public sector and healthcare organisations and related professional and regulatory bodies. Two aspects of my job I particularly enjoy are tackling potentially ‘dry’ content (such as annual reports) that can benefit from a fresh approach and getting to grips with complex topics so I can make useful suggestions and spot areas for improvement in detailed documents. My background is in journalism and internal and external communications, and my last permanent in-house job was producing employee and other publications for a government department. I’m a professional member of the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading, which helps me continue to develop new skills and expand the services I can offer.
